The Anti-Moral of the Story

Finally, the agricultural commissioner storyline is over. It’s ridiculous that it took me six months to finish this 22-page story. I’ll try to do better in future; in the meantime, you can expect a period of single-page or single-panel comics.
Beatnik Aftermath

Almost Everybody Goes Home

Pete’s Downfall

The last panel is the most obscure reference I’ve ever made. I’m nearly the only one reading this comic, so I can do that sort of thing.
Now it’s a Surprise Party!

Bob Returns Home

That was quite a pause for a chase scene.
I’m finally, finally back on track with the comics. I wish page 16 was worth the wait. When this thing is over, I’m going to stick with one-pagers for a while.

Update 4/26/09: The comics are temporarily stalled because of a week-long virus and subsequent exhaustion. I’m working again, but it may be up to a week before I post the next page. I hope to build up a small reserve of pages for situations like this.

Bob Investigates
For those few people curious about the process behind these pages, I’ve posted something about just why the comics are taking so long to appear.

A Disturbing Conversation

Harriet is Fed Up
I thought I’d try an experiment with this comic: I did the pencilling in blue pencil, and the “inking” in black pencil. The idea was both to save time and to preserve the quality and spontaneity of my original pencils, which I tend to ruin in the inking stage.
Unfortunately it didn’t work. Partly, I think, I used the wrong kind of paper–the pencil smeared. Once I had the thing scanned Photoshop gave me a choice between washed-out lines and heavy speckles. I’ll redraw this one at some point but decided putting the flawed version up now was better than letting the strip stall.
